Faith is a Person, not an "it"

(Gal 3:23-25) But before "Faith" came, we were kept in custody under the law, being shut up to the "Faith" which was later to be revealed. Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by Faith/Christ. But now that "Faith" has come, we are no longer under a tutor.(nasb)

You cannot separate "Faith" from the Person of Jesus Christ
Christ-IS, the Author and Finisher of [our] "Faith."

Hebr 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of [things] hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

If faith is a person what is his name?

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

It must not be Jesus because He was revealed.

  2. "If faith is a person what is his name?"

    His name is Jesus!!!

Yes, He has been revealed, for my "righteousness" is obtained in no other way............and I "live" my life, by the "Life" of another, Jesus!

(Rom. 1:17)For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."

Once again, You cannot separate "Faith" from the person of Jesus Christ...........He is our "Faith" just as Jesus Is our "hope."

"Now Faith/Jesus is the assurance of [things] hoped for, the conviction/evidence of things not always perceived/regarded........"

"The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It's our handle on what we can't see."(The Message)

  4. We want so desperately to "own" some part of the formula for our salvation, don't we? If the only thing I can add to the plan is my "faith", then by God, I'm gonna DO IT! And if you say that even "faith" isn't my contribution, then what's left? Do I have to trust God for the whole thing? Is relationship between me and Him all His responsibility?

NEVER! I want to be responsible for SOMETHING! After all, I am important, and I must give my "OK" for this relationship to exist!

But, in reality... He IS the assurance of things hoped for, and the conviction of things not seen. I put all my hope in Him, and He IS the conviction (the proof) of the things I can't see. He IS everything to me, He is everything I'm not. He redeemed me to the Father. He believes when I can't believe. He loves when I can't love. He is faith when I have none. I cling to Him knowing that He is the perfect answer for my inadequacies.
